Anja Taylor-Joy becomes Princess of Grunge Dior Couture in Paris

One of the best parts of Fashion Week is finding your favorite celebrities. The best-dressed always make sure their outfits are cool, even if they are wearing couture. Enter: Dior's Anja Taylor-Joy, a Dior ambassador since 2021, the actress was at the Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2024 Haute Couture show in Paris this morning. She paired a romantic gown with edgy black combat boots, perfectly expressing her sweet feeling and glamorous style.

Taylor-Joy's frock featured spaghetti straps and full lace detailing, while layers of tulle added volume to the overall skirt. The combat boots in question were Dior's Dior Level platform boots, although they did lift the skirt a bit. Pairing such a sweet dress with chunky boots felt like a timely nod to her upcoming sci-fi action film, Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga, due out this year. Moreover, Taylor-Joy's seemingly mismatched ensemble perfectly encapsulates the feminine flair that designer Maria Grazia Chiuri brought to the Dior house during her tenure, making Taylor-Joy the star of a timeless best-dressed show.

Kiuri's spin on the traditional feminine silhouette was also evident in his latest collection, which featured pristine gowns in a myriad of sophisticated fabrics and colors. The striking shade of red in the Taylor-Joy ensemble appeared throughout this season's couture collection in a more classic manner than the lace frock that appeared in the front row. Instead, it appeared in the form of pleated skirt suits and structured gowns, with combat boots never once in sight. Taylor-Joy was not the only one to put a twist on the iconic French maison. Front row guest Rihanna paired an all-black quilted peplum with a newsboy cap.

Makeup consisted of a base makeup with a subtle glow, a pale pink stain lip and natural cheek blush. Pale blonde hair was worn down with a natural texture, adding to her ethereal energy.
