Abbott Elementary" Season 3: Everything We Know

It took a while, but Abbott Elementary will be back this year! After a first season that swept numerous awards (and a second season nominated for several more at this year's Emmys), ABC's popular workplace comedy has been renewed for a third season in January 2023. Channing Dungey, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, told Variety in January 2023, "Abbott Elementary is a gift. Abbott Elementary has been a gift, and we look forward to more great episodes of this wonderful, authentic, and just plain funny series."

Abbott Season 3 was perhaps most heartbreakingly delayed by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year. Since then, fans have been waiting for their weekly dose of serotonin (and an answer to the romantic cliffhanger of the Season 2 finale). Now that the strike is over and Season 3 has officially begun, here's what we know about the upcoming episodes.

Mark your calendars: ABC has announced that the third season of "Abbott Elementary" will premiere on February 7, 2024 at 9:00 PM. According to Deadline, the number of episodes will be reduced to 14 from 22 in season 2.

That's right! In the first teaser for the new season, Principal Eva (Janelle James) sets up new cameras throughout the school, Janine (creator Kinta Branson) receives new iPads for her students, most of which are not working, and other new antics A new twist awaits.

If you don't have access to your local ABC channel, new Abbott episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu in the U.S. the next day and on Disney+ internationally. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available for streaming, so if you want to rewatch or catch up before the new season begins, you're in luck.

"Abbott" is primarily about dedicated teachers and their daily lives keeping Philly's underfunded public schools alive, but also the romantic angst of the "will they/won't they" duo of Janine and Gregory (Tyler James Williams). It is portrayed a bit. Janine and Gregory confess their love for each other, but Janine decides she needs some time to herself before entering into a new relationship.

"I wanted Janine, especially at the end of this season of growing up, to make a decision that she felt was best for her, with new information about herself," Gregory said. It's about maturity. She is maturing, he is maturing. I wanted them to continue on that mature path as individuals. I want to allow the characters to grow a little bit more as individuals.

So expect season 3 to continue the long road to Janine and Gregory finally getting together. (Or, if you disagree with that ending, they may not.) In any case, Branson also confirmed that their relationship is not the main focus of the show. 'Our show is not about dating. It's about this school, and it's about the kids. So Janine and Gregory are Abbott's No. So Janine and Gregory are Abbott's No. It's about the school and the kids. So it's a nice touch to have the two of them messing around in the background.
