The first month of the year sets the tone for the biggest makeup trends to come. So it's no surprise that the 2024 Emmys will provide massive beauty inspiration. For proof, look no further than Taraji P. Henson's gorgeous raspberry and purple blush. From the apples of her cheeks to her temples, colored blush is proving to be a definite "in" next year.

"I was so inspired by her raspberry/eggplant colored dress that I wanted to make her skin warm and her cheeks pop," said makeup artist Saisha Beecham in a press release shared with Marie Claire. 'To make her cheeks pop, I applied a generous amount of L'Oréal Paris Infallible Up to 24H Fresh Wear Soft Matte Blush to blend with the eyeshadow. It's very bright and lasts a long time if you wear a lot."

The bright, bold blush, which also serves to contour the face, is predicted to transcend the Emmy red carpet. Makeup artist Jamie Greenberg once told Marie Claire, when asked about her makeup predictions for 2024, "I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to do. Contouring is the technique of shading the face. By applying blush from the outer cheekbones to the temples, you can make the cheekbones look more raised and snatched," she added.

Makeup was not the only trendy aspect of Henson's look. Her hair, which featured a slicked-back ponytail, was also a big part of the look. Despite having recently cut her hair into a bob, Henson's hairstylist, Tim Wallance, made this look possible with Hidden Crown hair extensions. Wallace said, "Capturing the beauty of black women was the inspiration for Taraji's Emmy look, and I took a cue from the supermodels of the '90s to create a sleek, snatched ponytail."
