Casual viewers of the Netflix reality show "Love is Blind" will know that not every couple who gets engaged in a pod will have a wedding. Since season one, the "Love is Blind" creative team has had a wide selection of couples who have decided to get married, and producers have decided (based on unknown criteria) to follow certain pairs throughout the show's process. Couples who don't make the cut are typically sent home to proceed with their engagement at a natural pace. (Two "Love Is Blind" Season 5 cast members, Paige Tillman and Josh Simmons, confirmed in a joint Instagram post that they were engaged and even began planning their wedding, but eventually broke up a few months after the podcast.) Season 5, however, marked the first time (or at least the first time fans have publicly confirmed) that the couple was filmed throughout the entire process and even made it to the altar, despite the fact that no scenes make the final cut.

After the Season 5 premiere aired on September 22, Redditors and TikTokers began speculating that the engagement between Lenny Posh, a 32-year-old veterinarian, and Carter Wall, a 30-year-old construction worker and fitness enthusiast, had been edited out on the show. on September 29 One notable post titled "Lenny Cuts Revealed" that was shared claimed that multiple sources confirmed that the two made it to the altar. Several fans noted that Renee was wearing white for her wedding dress fitting and that she appeared to be wearing an engagement ring at the pod reunion in Houston.

All fan speculation ended last week when Renee confirmed in an interview with PopSugar that the news about her and Carter's engagement was true. So why was this couple cut from Season 5? Here is what we know about where Renee and Carter are now.

Renee revealed to PopSugar that she and Carter got engaged in a pod and were among the couples chosen to go to Mexico. They went through the program's process and had a wedding day, but she turned him down at the altar.

"We were so excited about everything and things went really well in Mexico," she told the outlet. 'We were always so happy, funny, happy, enjoying each other's company. But once we got back to Houston and back into the real world, I started to realize that the things I was ignoring or blowing off were red flags. And eventually I said "no" at the altar."

Renee said she was "as shocked as everyone else" to see her and Carter's storyline cut from the season entirely. She explained, "I got a call in August, a couple of months before the show aired, letting me know that our story wasn't going to be a major focus." I was told, 'Carter was awful. Carter was awful. It was a timing issue and they decided to cut our story. That's what I was told."

She continued, "At first I was very confused and asked for clarification. My first question was, 'Wait, they don't show weddings? ' She was like, 'No, there is no wedding.' So I kept asking more and she was like, 'You guys are friends from the pod. ' It was very vague, and I was still thinking that maybe I would get engaged on the show and be cut off from it."

The veterinarian shared that she believes they were cut for more reasons than she was told, adding that she "will get it eventually, but not now." She added that viewers are missing out on "so much."

"It was an emotional roller coaster. There were ups and downs. There were so many more interesting and better moments than the few clips they showed. It would have been wonderful to see them, not right now, but even through the really tough parts," she said.

Carter has yet to give an interview or speak out about her engagement to Renee or her experience filming season 5.

On the day the Season 5 wedding aired, Renee released an unpublished behind-the-scenes photo of her wedding dress fitting on Instagram, including a photo of her, Lydia, and Stacy posing in matching jean jackets with the word "BRIDE" splashed across them. At the end of her carousel is a camera shot of Renee styling her hair, presumably on her wedding day.

"I wanted everyone to see this wild ride. Regardless of the ups and downs, it was fun shooting with my girls," she captioned the photo.

Although things didn't work out with Carter, Renee found love soon after filming ended for season 5. She confirmed to PopSugar that she married in early 2022, when the show was filmed; she revealed that they married in March 2023, but did not reveal her husband's name out of respect for his privacy. Renee also responded to fan speculation that she and Carter might have been cut from the show if they had been in a secret relationship during filming.

"I was never in a relationship," she said. 'I was single during the casting, and then we didn't shoot for about eight months, and I was single the whole time. I think the rumor was because they saw that I got married later and thought, 'We must have gotten married at the same time.' But no, I was single, and I think Carter would say that while there may have been other issues, that was never the case."

She also said of her husband, "He doesn't want to be in any media. He doesn't want his name to be known. But I've actually known him for a long time. We were matched on a dating app years ago, and we met and went on a few dates, but that was it. It wasn't until a few months after the shoot that we actually went on more dates. We finished filming in June and didn't start dating until September or October. I was ready for a real relationship and was looking forward to everything. We got married in March, although I'd rather keep our engagement a secret."

As for Carter, he has kept his private life private while "Love Is Blind" Season 5 is airing. His Instagram consists mostly of fishing photos and pictures with friends.
