Sofia Vergara smiles for the first time since her breakup with Joe Manganiello

[Amidst reports of her divorce from her husband of seven years, Joe Manganiello, Sofia Vergara was spotted without her wedding ring and giving a thumbs up to photographers in West Hollywood. This was her first public appearance since her reported breakup with Manganiello last week.

"Vergara was photographed on Monday wearing Nike sweatpants, a gray long-sleeved shirt, white sneakers, and oversized sunglasses," Us Weekly reported.

"She gave the camera a thumbs-up with her right hand, while her left hand rested on a white handbag, clearly missing her diamond ring.

Exactly one week ago, on July 17, the two released a joint statement detailing their decision to divorce: "We have made the difficult decision to divorce. We have made the difficult decision to divorce." As two people who love and cherish each other very much, we respectfully ask that you respect our privacy as we enter this new phase of our lives." Two days later, on July 19, Manganiello filed for divorce, but the separation date was listed as July 2." Manganiello was conspicuously absent from Vergara's Independence Day celebration on July 4," Us Weekly reported. The following week, Vergara traveled to Italy to celebrate his July 10 birthday, again without Manganiello. Manganiello wrote on social media, "Felice Campreyagnos Sofia!!!!" but was later called "cold" by many followers," Us Weekly wrote. Exactly one week after her birthday, the two announced they were splitting up.

"Joe and Sofia broke up because they were leading separate lives," one source said. 'There was no flirtation or anything like that; they both realized they were rarely on the same page.'

Their decision to end their marriage was a mutual one, with another source noting that they had been "living apart" for several months before publicly announcing their "mutual" separation.

According to Page Six, Vergara and Manganiello had been "estranged for some time" and decided to "put some distance between them in order to think about their future together." Sources claim that Vergara felt "suffocated" in her relationship with Manganiello and that Manganiello was "an almost unsupportive partner."

"While Sofia was always there to take care of Joe, his career was not what it was when they met," they said.

"I think he was intimidated by her success and joie de vivre."

As for getting back out there, "Sofia's friends are rallying around her, and I wouldn't be surprised if she was ready to date again now," one source said. Manganiello, for his part, "is not eager to jump into a new relationship anytime soon."
