TikTok filters are a lot of fun to play with.

Selena Gomez recently learned this firsthand. That's when she decided to try out the app's "Why am I single?" filter.

After a nail-biting wait, Gomez was told she was single "because of bad taste," and the answer left her wide-eyed, jaw dropped, and completely speechless.

She captioned the video "Wells thats rude tik tok" and set it to Bonnie Tyler's "Holding Out for a Hero."

Fans in the comments section were divided into two camps: those who were as shocked by the answer as Gomez was, and those who agreed a bit with the filter.

"As a true fan of yours ...... You're not wrong, sister!" Some said.

"You definitely need to raise your standards girl," someone else said.

Gomez is most famous for previously dating Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, and has been linked to The Chainsmokers' Drew Taggart and Zayn Malik, although neither relationship has been confirmed. This TikTok proves once and for all that Gomez is currently single.

To be fair, "bad taste" is not a super flattering thing to say to someone, but it still seems like a better answer than "clinging to the past" or "afraid of intimacy." At least when it comes to bad taste, we can blame others. Look, I'm not saying it's more noble, I'm just saying it's more ego-friendly.
