Reese Witherspoon opens up about her divorce from Jim Toth: "It's a vulnerable time for me."

Reese Witherspoon and her husband of 11 years, Jim Toth, announced their divorce in a joint statement on social media earlier this year.

Since then, the two have remained very cautious about the aftermath of their separation, preferring to protect the privacy of themselves and their family.

However, in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, Witherspoon opened up about her decision to publicly announce her divorce and how she has taken care of herself during this difficult time.

"It's interesting what happened to me," she said. [When I was divorced before, I felt so out of control because the tabloid media started telling people how I was feeling and how I was handling it. [I can tell people directly what's going on in my life and share it like I would share a great professional or personal experience.

"Then, of course, there is speculation, but I can't control that. All I can do is be my most honest and candid self and be vulnerable. It's a vulnerable time for me"

The actress was previously married to Ryan Phillippe from 1999 to 2008.

Divorce is of course a difficult thing to go through, but Witherspoon explained that she feels less alone than before.

"I think about how many other people are going through this," she said. I don't feel alone at all. I feel very connected."

Back in April, there were reports that Witherspoon was not looking to date anytime soon. A source told People at the time, "Dating is not on her mind right now. She will have a friend set it up when she is ready."

Now, instead, she has turned to self-care, immersed herself in a paint-by-numbers project, among other things, and is clearly as busy as ever with her thriving career. Not to alarm you, she now has 12 production credits and six acting credits.
