The inside story of Prince Harry's close relationship with the Spencers, as royal relations continue to strain.

Unfortunately, Prince Harry's current relationship with the royal family is, as it stands, highly unsatisfactory.

On the plus side, however, it seems clear that the Duke of Sussex has close ties to his late mother Princess Diana's family, especially her siblings: the Charles Spencers, Lady Jane Fellowes, and Lady Sarah McCorkdale.

"He obviously has a pretty good relationship with Charles Spencer, Jane, and Sarah on his mother's side," historian Tessa Dunlop said in an interview with OK!

She continued, "That family over there seems to be on better terms," meaning better so far than Harry's relationship with King Charles and Prince William.

Dunlop also pointed out that the idea that Harry basically has no family is untrue: "All the focus is on the fact that Harry and Princess Meghan have no family or relationship, but he is clearly related to the Spencer family.

"And in 'Spare,' he tells us that when he and Meghan visited Princess Diana's grave, their two aunts and uncle were there."

Here Dunlop is referring to an episode that the Duke told in his memoirs in which he took his wife to Althorpe House, where Diana rests, in 2022. There she was accompanied by Charles, Jane, and Sarah.

It's great to have the Spencer family to rely on, even though Harry reportedly speaks only briefly with his father and not at all with his brother these days.

In addition, the Sussexes and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, seem to be spending quite a lot of time with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, while they are away in California. Basically, being estranged from some of their family members is not ideal, but they definitely still have a lot of support in their lives.
