Prince Harry reportedly wants to interview Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on a podcast about childhood trauma

Prince Harry had a rather outlandish idea for a podcast when he and Meghan Markle first signed a deal with Spotify that was announced in 2020.

Bloomberg researched the story, talking to various people with knowledge of Harry's discussions with the producers, and found, among other things, that the Duke of Sussex wanted to interview a controversial guest about his childhood trauma. Suggested guests included former U.S. President Donald Trump, current Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Facebook and Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg.

This would surely have made for a fascinating conversation if it had come to pass, but it was soon pointed out to Harry that it would be next to impossible to squeeze these people into an interview.

Harry's other ideas included a podcast on fatherhood and a podcast on various social issues, for which he reportedly mentioned Pope Francis as a potential guest.

Aside from a special holiday episode he co-hosted with Meghan in 2020, the Duke ultimately never developed his own podcast.

Meanwhile, the Duchess spearheaded a podcast, Archetypes, released in 2022, which explored some of the labels often unfairly attached to women.

This month, however, it was announced that "Archetypes" will not be renewed for a second season and that the Sussexes' contract with Spotify will end entirely.

"Spotify and Archewell Audio have agreed to part ways with each other and are proud of the series we created together," a spokesperson for the royal couple said in a statement.

Shortly after, Marie Claire reported that Meghan's management confirmed that the Duchess would continue to "develop content" for her fans in the future and was already considering "another platform."
