Prince Charles wants to reconcile with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but not "until we see some positive change on their part."

The ever-fissuring relationship between King Charles and his second son, Prince Harry (and Meghan Markle, for that matter), seemed to be firmer by the time of the King's coronation on May 6. But then, inexplicably, Harry and Meghan were not invited to the "Trooping the Colour" (the monarch's birthday parade) on June 17; according to Us Weekly, the King "loves his son," but his relationship with the Sussex family remains strained. Charles' "trust has been undermined since the publication of 'Spare,'" a source said of Harry's memoir, which was released in January of this year. "There is no doubt that Prince Charles wishes to avoid Harry and Meghan. It is unclear what exactly that "positive change" will entail.

The magazine also spoke about Harry and Meghan's absence from Trooping the Colour, with one source saying, "There is a feeling among the royals that if the Sussexes were there, attention would be diverted from Trooping the Colour, an important event for the entire nation There is a feeling among the royals that if the Sussexes were there, it would distract attention from Trooping the Colour, an important event for the entire nation."

The Mirror reported that the King is open to resolving the rift with Harry and would welcome both Harry and Meghan back into the royal family. In a recent episode of the Daily Express' "Royal Roundup," reporter Richard Palmer said, "The King would welcome them back. I mean, the King is keen to heal the family rift. But it's obviously very raw right now, and it's very noticeable. While the King says he wants to heal that rift, he has not met his son, who has visited the UK twice in the past. (Harry is in his home country for a court appearance in a lawsuit he filed against Miller Group Newspapers.)

We continue to hope for peace in our family.
