Meghan Markle's Spotify podcast "Archetypes" was littered with celebrity names: Mariah Carey. Serena Williams. Mindy Kaling. Issa Rae. Paris Hilton. And many others. However, there was one celebrity guest who declined the invitation, despite being invited by a handwritten note from Princess Meghan.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Swift declined Markle's invitation through her agent, despite Meghan's handwritten letter to the singer. After working with Spotify to create a guest list for the show, Swift was shortlisted, but declined the offer for reasons unknown.

The 12-episode show focused on the stereotypes women face and was ultimately the only content to come out of Princess Meghan and her husband Prince Harry's $20 million deal with Spotify, which ended earlier this month.

The Wall Street Journal article continues with Harry and Meghan's careers after they retire from active membership in the royal family in January 2020 and move to the United States. According to the article, employees of the couple's company, Archewell, claim that the organization lacks direction, with one source saying, "At times [Harry and Meghan] seem surprised by the work required to finish entertainment projects."

The insider continued, "Most potential initiatives, they said, follow a similar route: big idea, lousy execution." In particular, Harry added that with regard to the couple's Spotify deal, they "had a hard time landing the idea."

While Meghan produced a show for Spotify, Harry ultimately did not. The Daily Express reported that Harry and Meghan's children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, were expected to potentially play roles on Harry's show that never materialized, with a fatherhood theme.
