Prince Harry Abused Prince Charles Over Money Issues, New Book Claims

In the pages of Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, we read all about the explosive fight between Prince Harry and his brother Prince William. But veteran royal correspondent Robert Jobson's latest book, Our King, details another fracas between Harry and his father, Prince Charles.

According to the Mirror, an irate Harry swore at Charles in an argument over money: "Harry, who lost his temper when his repeated requests for funds were not met, is alleged to have vented his frustration with his father in a heated phone conversation," the paper reports.

Harry, who, as far as we know, has yet to announce his participation in the coronation ceremony more than a week after the deadline, has apparently caused a rift with his father during this argument. According to Our King, Harry had contacted His late Majesty to discuss financial matters, but His Majesty was "exhausted" from talking about it with his grandson. Jobson writes that Harry regularly called the Queen from his new home base in California, but that the Queen felt "troubled" when Harry asked her to address his grievances.

Her Majesty found phone calls from Prince Harry rather difficult and tiresome," Jobson wrote. She did not want to interfere in the parent-child relationship, so she urged Harry to talk to his father."

So Harry did just that. He called his father, Charles, but without much success.

At the time "Prince Charles stopped answering Harry's phone after his son swore at Prince Charles and repeatedly asked for funds," Jobson wrote.

"When the Queen asked Prince Charles why he would not comply, Prince Charles replied that he was not a bank.

Ouch.

And as for Harry attending what is arguably the biggest day of his father's life, the incredibly early May 6 coronation at London's Westminster Abbey, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are apparently "on the brink" of making a decision, The Mirror The Mirror reports. However, their request to appear on the balcony after the ceremony is unlikely to happen, as only active members of the royal family are allowed to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony, a source said.

"The king has been very clear about who he wants to represent the monarchy. 'There is very little room for emotion. This is a national opportunity, not a familial one.
