Meghan Markle Wants Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to Associate with King Charles

While all the world's eyes will be on King Charles' coronation at Westminster Abbey in London on May 6, there will be another affair in Montecito: four-year-old Prince Archie's birthday party.

"Along with her and Prince Harry's flock of rescue chickens and three dogs, her mother Doria Ragland, Archie's school friends, and some mommy friends, there may be a few familiar faces at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Montecito, California estate.

And the magazine suggests that Harry may attend the party as well. According to the magazine, Harry is taking a commercial flight, not a private one, and "may even jump on a flight back to California after the 11 a.m. ceremony. He appears to be exhausted.

"Harry will make every effort to make it in time for Archie's birthday. 'It's going to be an intimate party. It won't be like My Super Sweet 16 or Portia de Rossi's 50th."

As for the coronation, we learned last week that Harry will attend but not Princess Meghan, "and even if she doesn't, it will be very awkward," says one well-informed royal source. But insiders say that progress is definitely being made between Harry and his father, Prince Charles.

And Princess Meghan, more than anyone else, seems to want a relationship between Prince Charles and her children, Archie and Princess Lilibet. Meghan doesn't want any more rifts," says one insider. She especially wants her children, who will never get to know their other grandfather [Meghan's long estranged father, Thomas Markle], to get to know their grandfather, Charles. She hopes that the two will meet and that her decision will be seen as unselfish because it was best to keep Her Majesty's attention on her."

Sources added that Meghan's decision to miss the coronation was to not stir up any drama. Says the source, "She just doesn't really want to sing and dance and have everything exposed to the public eye." After all, apparently, Meghan thought it would be "inauthentic" for her to attend the ceremony given her past drama.
