As the coronation approaches and preparations continue to welcome the new Queen Camilla, whose title of "consort" will be officially abolished, royal experts are also looking to the future, namely the time when Prince William will take the throne and his wife Kate will become queen.

For one royal historian, the Duchess of Wales is well suited for this difficult role thanks to her many talents and the way she consistently acts on behalf of her people.

"She sings well, plays the piano, rock climbs, and plays tennis," says Tessa Dunlop, OK! 5]

"She can display these unexpected talents when we least expect them, which makes her feel accomplished, cultured, and attractive at the same time, not frightening."

"She is a very good actress, and she is a very good friend.

Indeed, the princess surprised royal fans by performing piano music at the first Christmas Carol Service in 2021, and recently pulled tires during a royal engagement and played tennis with champion Emma Raducanu. She is always willing to try new things, which is part of her broad appeal.

Dunlop also commented on Kate's wardrobe. The expert explained, "She knows about timeless images, so for years Kate seemed to be wearing clothes that were too old for her age, but now she is timeless, enduring Kate."

"The UK is going through a tough time, but there's a Kate cheering on Wales at rugby, and there's a Kate doing the right thing with her three children at the beginning of term.

"She is an encouraging presence."

This interestingly mirrors some of the comments often made about Queen Elizabeth II during her own reign.

At the time of the Queen's death, Dr. Kate Strasdin, a fashion historian and expert on royal dress, wrote in Marie Claire magazine, "Her 'steady steer' approach to her appearance ...... was part of her charm," she said. Her identity was rooted in that very consistency, and while everything else was turbulent and the world was doing different things, you could actually see her at any point and she looked like herself"
