Prince Harry's "low-key" court appearance is to "minimize media circus," says royal expert

This week, Prince Harry made a surprise appearance in a London courtroom.

"Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Harry's surprise attendance at court today was as low-key as possible, probably to minimize the media frenzy," royal expert Christine Ross told Express on Monday.

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's every move seems to be fueling a comedic 'privacy tour' these days. We hope that Harry's quiet appearance will reduce the negative narrative."

The Duke of Sussex was in court for the four-day hearing of a joint trial in which he and prominent public figures sued the Associated Press, publisher of the Daily Mail, for various invasions of privacy.

"This lawsuit against ANL is definitely headline fuel, so keeping as low a profile as possible will help minimize negative coverage as much as possible," Ross explained.

The expert is largely in favor of the Sussexes remaining as discreet as possible in the face of the fallout from the publication of Spare and the coronation of King Charles.

Regarding their possible attendance at the May 6 event, Ross previously told Marie Claire, "It would take a great deal of planning and diplomacy to attend in the best way possible. Their best bet is to attend in the most quiet and private capacity, avoiding the lines down the aisles of Westminster Abbey and choosing a private entrance and hard-to-find seats."

The Sussexes have not yet confirmed whether they will travel to England for the coronation.
