Prince William says Queen Mother Dowager wanted party invitations when he went to college.

After the death of Dowager Queen Elizabeth in 2002, her great-grandsons, Prince William and Prince Harry, gave an impressive interview.

In it, William recalled a remarkable request Elizabeth made when she hosted a farewell lunch for him before he started college at the prestigious St. Andrews in Scotland.

"As we said goodbye, she said. 'If you have any good parties, invite me'" (from The Guardian). But I couldn't. I knew that if I invited her, she would dance under the table.

He most likely did not want to invite her, since bringing a hundred-year-old great-grandmother to a college party is generally not the right thing to do, but there is no doubt that he was not lying about Elizabeth being able to make him dance "under the table."

This is for two reasons: first, William, despite his great qualities, is not known for his dancing skills. He even annoys his brother.

The second reason is that Elizabeth seemed to be having a lot of fun, according to what the two young princes revealed about Elizabeth in the same interview.

William said, "All the things she did that were supposed to be formal and failed, she enjoyed. She laughed herself silly over it. It kept us sane."

The prince was a very good friend of Elizabeth's.

The prince also recalled the older royal's daring take on technology. She liked to see what we got for Christmas and would ask what the latest fad was. 'I got her a cell phone and showed it to her. I invited her to press a few buttons and it blinked and blinked."

Been there, done that.
