Prince Harry's "remaining bridge" with Prince Charles "fizzled" in court testimony, sources say.

Prince Harry visited the United Kingdom this week as part of a joint court hearing against the Associated Press, publisher of the Daily Mail newspaper. Prince Harry and other public figures brought this trial for alleged privacy violations, including accusations of phone hacking.

The Duke of Sussex, in his witness statement and in court documents written by lawyers for him, made new comments that the Royal Family would probably not like, such as the claim that the Royal Family "withheld information."

The Duke of Sussex said, "The Royal Family undoubtedly withheld information from me for a long time about the NGN phone hack. It is no exaggeration to say that the bubble of what I knew burst in 2020 when I left the UK" (via Harper's Bazaar).

According to one source, Harry's comments drove a further wedge in his relationship with the royal family.

"Harry has burned any remaining bridges with this statement," a friend of the king told The Daily Beast. 'The coronation is only six weeks away, and for Charles it's his last hope.'

They added, " Trust has been lost, and I think the King's refusal to see him has made that clear." According to the Daily Beast, Prince Charles' office said he was "too busy" to meet his son: the king was scheduled to visit France (though postponed due to social actions) and headed to Germany this week.

Regarding Prince William's feelings about the series of events, a source told the magazine, "William is over it at this stage. If this was about revenge against the Mail, that would be one thing. But Harry is pulling out all the stops to embarrass his family. How can you have a relationship with someone who is doing that?"

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams feels the same way about the possibility of reconciliation. He has previously said, "It would be almost impossible to have a relationship with Harry in the wake of 'Spare' and the documentary 'Harry & Meghan' (Netflix)." I will not be able to say anything to him without fearing that the same thing will happen again somewhere else."

Call me naïve, I don't know, but I am still hopeful.
