When the series began, Daisy was a music lover who rejected her sheltered life in the Hollywood Hills and her laissez-faire parents to pursue her dream of becoming a singer-songwriter. Eventually, she connects with The Six and begins a whimsical relationship with the band's lead singer, Billy Dunn.
Keough (open in new tab) began her career as a model, and her first acting role was in the 2010 film Runaways, in which she played Marie Currie, a different rock music biography. She has since appeared in "The Girlfriend Experience," "Terminal List," the film "Magic Mike," "Mad Max: Death Road to Rage," "American Honey," and "Logan Lucky." She is also the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley and the eldest grandchild of Elvis Presley.
Billy Dunn and his friends formed a band while growing up in Pittsburgh. Eventually they moved to Los Angeles for their big break, accompanied by Billy's girlfriend, Camilla, who would later become his wife. Their relationship and the stability of the band are tested when Billy falls into addiction.
British actor Claflin (open in new tab) is best known for playing Finnick Odair in the popular film adaptation of the YA novel series The Hunger Games. He has also appeared in the BBC series Peaky Blinders and the films Pirates of the Caribbean: The Last Pirates, Snow White and the Huntsman, Me Before You, The Nightingale, and Enola Holmes.
An aspiring photographer, Camilla followed her boyfriend Billy and the band when they moved to California and later married him and had children. She is a supportive "mother" to the group, but as the band becomes more successful, their marriage becomes strained.
Morone (open in new tab) is a model and actress who made her runway debut in 2017; she appeared in James Franco's 2013 film Bukowski before returning to acting in 2018's Never Goin' Back and Death Wish. She is also known for her five-year relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio and her familial relationship with her "stepfather" (her mother's longtime partner) Al Pacino.
The Six's lead guitarist and Billy's brother Graham (pictured left) actually had the initial desire to form a band, which set their entire story in motion. He is played by Harrison (open in new tab), in the actor's first major role. He previously guest starred in an episode of "Madam Secretary" and co-starred with his own sister, Tess Harrison, in the indie film "This Is a Film About My Mother."
Keyboardist Karen was in other bands before joining The Six, becoming one of the first women in the overwhelmingly male-dominated rock and roll world of the 1970s.
London-born actress and musician Waterhouse (open in new tab) was discovered as a model at age 16 and later won her first major role in the 2014 romantic comedy Love, Susie, starring Claflin. Since then, she has appeared in films such as the Divergent series: Insurgent, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and Assassination Nation. He is currently touring (open in new tab) with his own music. (Fun fact: she has been in a long-term, low-key relationship with Robert Pattinson for five years.)
Eddie is the bassist for The Six, and is often at odds with Billy, fighting for more say in his career and the band's trajectory. Whitehouse (open in new tab), a British model and actor, has previously appeared in the British series Poldark and the films Northern Soul, The Receptionist, Valley Girl, and The Night Before Christmas.
The Six's easygoing, fun-loving drummer Warren is played by New York native Chacon (open in new tab) in his first major television role. He made his television debut on the Netflix series "The Get Down" and has guest-starred on shows such as "Madam Secretary," "Mr. Robot," "Pose," "Narcos," "Penny Dreadfuls: City of Angels," and more. 2022's prime She also appeared in the video production Emergency.
Simone is Daisy's closest (and only) friend, encouraging her to pursue her singing dreams after they first meet. She is also a singer who finds herself at the forefront of the underground disco scene of the 1970s.
Be (open in new tab) is a Brazilian actress and musician who has appeared primarily in off-Broadway productions such as Hadestown and School Girls; or The African Mean Girls. She is the first black Brazilian woman to win a major American theatrical award. Daisy Jones & the Sixth is her first American television role, but she also played Killmonger's accomplice and girlfriend Linda in Black Panther.
Teddy is a music producer looking for the next big thing who discovers Daisy and The Six separately and later brings them together for a duet. He is played by Wright (open in new tab), a prolific actor who has appeared in dozens of screen and stage productions. Some of his best-known films include "My Neighbor Seinfeld," "A Different World," "Ray Donovan," "The Magicians," and the films "Marked for Death," "The Sunshine State," "Murder at 1600," and "Barbershop."
Rod was a tour manager and befriended The Six in Pittsburgh, where they appeared before him in LA. He sets them up with their first gig and works with the band throughout their career.
Oliphant has been featured on HBO's Deadwood and Sex and the City; FX's Damages, Justified, and Fargo; Netflix's Santa Clarita Diet; Disney+'s The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, among other acclaimed series. He has also appeared in the films The First Wives Club, Scream 2, Live Free or Die Hard, This Is Where I Leave You, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
