Read MorePrince Harry and Meghan Markle's children, Archie and Lilibet, received ample media coverage this week as their titles of Prince and Princess, respectively, were confirmed by their parents and the royal court. However, according to several media outlets, Harry and Meghan have received invitations to the May 6 ceremony, but not the children.
The Mirror reports that "correspondence from Buckingham Palace does not mention Archie or Lilibet" and that "the couple reportedly have no information about whether their children are included in the plans."
May 6 is also Archie's fourth birthday and his sister Lilibet is about to turn 2 years old that day. Asked if Archie and Lilibet were invited to the event, a royal official simply replied that they were "very young."The Daily Mail reported that "palace officials believe the Sussexes' children are too young to attend the ceremony." [Meanwhile, the children of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are all expected to attend, according to the Telegraph. Marie Claire recently reported that George, as heir to the throne, will play a leading role in the day's proceedings. William and Kate are still "pondering" whether to take Louis to the ceremony, but "it is believed likely that Louis will be present as well," the Mirror reported. Louis is 13 months older than Archie and just turned 5 on May 6, having turned 5 on April 23.
Harry and Meghan have yet to confirm their attendance at the Westminster Abbey event where King Charles and Queen Camilla will be crowned side by side. According to the Mirror, Archie and Lilibet's attendance will be discussed after Harry and Meghan respond to their attendance.
Camilla's grandchildren, two with sons Tom Parker Bowles, 13 and 15, and three with Laura Lopez, who has 13-year-old twins and a 15-year-old daughter, will have official roles at the coronation, though specific roles have not been specified. The Independent quoted a royal official as saying that it would be "entirely inappropriate" to discuss the roles of Camilla's grandchildren before discussing the roles of Prince Charles' grandchildren.
