While Prince William was "stressed," Princess Kate was "confident" in the Six Nations rugby match.

Prince William and Princess Kate attended the rugby Six Nations match between England and Wales last weekend.

But this was not just any old game: William is a Welsh supporter of rugby (he is the Prince of Wales and patron of the Welsh Rugby Union) and Kate is an English supporter (she is a patron of rugby football league and the Rugby Football Union Rugby Football League and the Rugby Football Union).

So for the royal couple, who supported opposing teams, this was a time of very tense rivalry, and according to body language experts, it showed.

"In terms of body language, there were some really great moments between Kate and William at the Six Nations rugby match," Darren Stanton told Marie Claire on behalf of Betfair Bingo (opens in new tab).

"What was interesting about the photo was that Kate was smiling and watching the game, while William had a very different look. Maybe it was because his team wasn't winning. But Kate maintained a huge level of confidence and self-assurance."

For Stanton, the event brought unbridled joy to the Princess of Wales, while William was more ambivalent about the event.

"She was obviously excited to be a part of this event," the expert said.

"At times during the match, Kate looked resolute and steely-eyed, while William held his tongue. This indicates that they may have been rooting for different teams. [William's expression is a sign of anticipation and stress that his team might not win, whereas Kate's expression is a sign of victory and success. Great facial expressions and body language exuded from both of them on the day"

.

In the end, Kate prevailed as England beat Wales 20-10.
