Just when you thought Netflix had reached peak reality dating show chaos (*cough* The Ultimatum *cough*), along came Perfect Match (opens in new tab). As a Valentine's Day treat, the streaming giant gathered dozens of contestants from its own reality show and gave them all a chance to find their twin flame (at least among fellow Netflix alums). The first four episodes landed on the platform early this morning, and there was already enough drama to fit at least half a season of Too Hot to Handle and possibly a full season of The Circle.

The show's gameplay was modeled after the aforementioned THTH and its predecessor, Love Island. The day after matching, pairs take a compatibility test to determine who is the best couple at that point. Those two can then go to the control room and choose two new people to go on dates with the other contestants (or themselves). After the newcomers have tested their connections, they are matched again, and those who do not match are immediately discarded from the villa.

It's been a while since Netflix has dropped a dating competition that looks genuinely fun, rather than a "social experiment" that leaves viewers conflicted about whether love is real. Thanks to a familiar cast of faces (including, of course, host Nick Lachey), "The Perfect Match" is refreshing yet drama-filled and not to be missed anytime soon.
