On Netflix's Harry & Meghan, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed that Meghan Markle, now the Duke of Sussex, was late for their first date.

A month later, Prince Harry's Spare detailed his first date with his wife, which was indeed very sweet.

"Red-cheeked, flustered, sweaty, and half an hour late, I ran into the restaurant, entered the quiet room, and found her sitting on a small area of a low velvet sofa in front of a low coffee table," he wrote (via People). [She was wearing a black sweater, jeans, and heels. I knew nothing about clothes, but I knew she was chic. Then again, she could make anything look chic." [I saw many pictures of her on fashion shoots and TV sets, glossy and glamorous. Heart-poppingly beautiful. I tried to process this and struggled to understand what was happening to my circulatory and nervous systems. Conversation, small talk, and the Queen's English all became difficult."

Eventually, however, the two began to talk about everything and realized they had much in common.

"The initial awkwardness was gone," the duke recalled, "and the warmth of email returned. We had each experienced first dates where we had nothing to say, but now we both felt a special thrill when there was too much to say, when there was not enough time to say everything that needed to be said."

"But speaking of time, ...... ours was running out of time."

He concluded." Compared to her, Cinderella was the queen of long goodbyes." [18] [19] [19] [20] I laugh. [19] [20] Anyway, all's well that ends well, as this first date led to many dates, a wedding, and two children.

Sadly, the relationship between the Sussexes and other members of the royal family has been a dark spot in the recent happy landscape, but royal officials are apparently hoping for a quick reconciliation ahead of King Charles' coronation on May 6. We will know in due course.
