Kylie Jenner transforms into a modern-day Aphrodite at Jean Paul Gaultier's Haute Couture show
Kylie Jenner's unpredictable style leaves everyone at the mercy of her. She wears what she wants, when she wants, and even changes her hairstyle in the process (hello, King Kylie!). . But for Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring 2024 couture by guest designer Simone Rocha, the star dressed in the brand's two signature house codes: sheer and corset. Jenner wore a naked dress with a bustier-style bodice, making this model-slash-reality star look like Aphrodite emerging from the sea.
Without accessories, ruffles, or a large lion's head, Jenner appeared on the JPG show in a sheer muslin gown with a bustier boned mini-dress underneath. The cups of the dress were exaggerated and tulle hung down to cover her ankles. The dress was structurally inclined to the history of Gaultier's corsets (!) ), and the translucent fabric allowed it to show through. On the feet, transparent chunky heels were adorned with three-dimensional pearl rings as toe straps.
Jenner's sheer, corseted dress matched her style "perfectly" and wrapped up the show in one fell swoop. Overall, it felt like an ode to the grandeur of both designers, and Jenner wore the message well.
In the front row of the show, Jenner sat next to Gossip Girl's ever-stylish Kelly Rutherford, who played the character of Lily Van Der Woodsen; the two were spotted chatting; and Jenner was seen wearing the "Lily Van Der Woodsen" dress, which was "a little more than a dress.
For fashion geeks, nothing is more eagerly awaited than Jean Paul Gaultier's show at Paris Couture Week. For starters, Gaultier has created some of pop culture's most popular looks, like Madonna's corn bra. Gaultier presented his last collection under his own name in 2020, and since then, fashion luminaries chosen by Gaultier himself have gathered in Paris each year to reimagine the brand with their personal flair. [This year's designer is London-based Simone Rocha, who balances the brand's historical codes with her own delicate, edgy, feminine designs.
