Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly eye TV opportunities as they look to break into Hollywood
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle call Montecito, California, home, but they are trying to break into Hollywood" For Princess Meghan, it is a return to her roots, although it should be remembered that she was a Hollywood actress before becoming the Duchess of Sussex. She is best known for her role as Rachel Zane in "Suits," but she left that career behind to move to the U.K. and marry Harry, and according to the Mirror, the two have plans to break into Hollywood.
Apparently, the couple is looking to "boost the Sussex brand" with their Hollywood friends - including Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. (The Mirror says that Harry and Meghan are "super excited" to get that invitation and that just being there is considered a "big deal"). Sources say that Harry & Meghan's stars are excited about the "endless opportunities" that come with working with influential celebrities.
"Being invited to Ellen and Portia's special day was a really big deal," says one source.
"Meghan and Harry are super excited and are buzzing right now."
Sources say that Harry and Meghan are exploring their options, and Meghan "doesn't want to miss out" on a worthy collaboration.
"The only question is how far Meghan and Harry are willing to go," the source says. 'It's to enhance their own brand.'
The Sussexes recently hired Adam Rilling, a big-time Hollywood dealmaker. He was named one of "Hollywood's Top Dealmakers" last year and has said in the past that he is focused on creating "profit opportunities."
Celebrity public relations expert Maya Riaz told the Mirror that Meghan will probably "return to television," and Marie Claire reported last week that Harry was at one point promoting his memoir, Spare, which was released last month, and that Saturday Night Live to promote his memoir Spare, which was released last month.
"It would be naïve not to expect Harry and Meghan to make a commercial move after the Netflix series and Spare," Riaz said. The Netflix series was made for an American audience, and it shows that there is an eagerness in the U.S. for the Duke and Duchess." Princess Meghan had a career before joining the royal family. Does that mean she should not return to the television world now that she is no longer royalty?"
So is there any chance that Princess Meghan will return to shows where she was a main character, such as Suits?
"She may not take on a role in a long-running series," said the writer. But it is absolutely possible that she will make a cameo appearance."
