Lipreader claims Jennifer Lopez told Ben Affleck to "be more friendly" at the Grammy Awards.
Sadly, Ben Affleck did not have the night of his life at Sunday's Grammy Awards.
The actor quickly became a meme and a hot topic after photos of him seemingly miserable at the star-studded event began circulating around the Internet.
Now a video of a seemingly tense exchange between Affleck and his wife, Jennifer Lopez, is making the rounds, and everyone has theories as to what exactly happened there and what was said.
In a few seconds of footage, Affleck leans in to whisper something in his wife's ear, and her response is to crouch away and turn her back on her husband in frustration. A few seconds later, she smiles at some people off camera.
The Daily Mail asked a lip-reading expert to interpret Lopez's words in order to figure out what the two said to each other. This person said the singer said, "Stop. Put on a friendlier face. Put on a friendlier face.
The lip-reader further claimed that Affleck replied, "I might."
Meanwhile, an amateur lip-reader on Twitter believes that Lopez actually said, "Sit up straight."
Let's pause here for a moment to reacquaint ourselves. I want to emphasize that we don't know for sure what happened during that exchange, or what words the couple exchanged.
There are also plenty of reasons why things seemed strained between the two of them, and it is also possible that things were actually perfectly fine and we are all making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Anyway, in case you didn't follow the couple's love story as disturbingly closely as I did, they made headlines in mid-2021 when they reunited about 20 years after their separation, then rapidly became engaged and married in 2022.
