Rihanna is so "focused" on her Super Bowl performance that she forgets her birthday and Valentine's Day
Minus two days until Rihanna makes her musical comeback at the Super Bowl. We're minus two days until Rihanna makes her Super Bowl comeback.
"Sunday, now is the time. I was so focused on the Super Bowl that I completely forgot that my birthday was coming up. I totally forgot about Valentine's Day," the Fenty founder admitted at an Apple Music press conference before the big day (via People).
Of his upcoming halftime show performance, the star said, "I feel like it was now or never. When I was asked to perform again this year, I said, 'Are you sure? I'm three months postpartum. Can I make such a momentous decision now? ......" She might have regretted it.
She also explained that being a new parent actually sort of triggered, rather than deterred, this challenge. (She and ASAP Rocky gave birth to their son in May 2022.)
"But something happens when you become a mom that makes you feel like you can take on the world," Rihanna said. [The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world. So it was scary, but ...... There is something exhilarating about that challenge. It's important to represent. It's important to show that to my son."
Obviously, it doesn't sound like preparing for this show was easy.
"The physical challenge was definitely immense," Rihanna said, "for many reasons, of course."
"I've never done this in a minute; I'm just running around for 13 minutes and trying to do a two-hour set in 13 minutes.
"When it starts, it doesn't end until the last second. ...... It's a jam-packed show and it's hard on the body, really."
We are truly blessed that she is doing this for us.
