Royal Family "Fully Expects" Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Attend Coronation
Look, there is no such thing as a tension-free family in the world. The only difference is that the family drama will not be featured in a 400+ page best-selling book, streamed on Netflix, or broadcast live at the coronation three months from now. The pinnacle may be the coronation of Prince Charles on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London. Prince Charles has been waiting for this moment for more than 74 years. Will the family feud overshadow this moment?
According to the Daily Mail, the family is "fully expecting" Harry and Meghan to attend the coronation. At this coronation, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla will be crowned side by side at the same place where Harry's mother, Princess Diana, was buried in 1997. Harry and Meghan attended the Queen's Platinum Jubilee last June and her funeral in September, but at the time there were only rumors about a book deal and a Netflix series.
According to the Daily Mail, the allegations from Harry's book Spare have "ruffled the feathers" of many relatives, and "the family are now bracing themselves for a visit from Montecito's relatives."
"Family members say that both Harry and Meghan are definitely coming," a source told the outlet. They fully expect it."
"Marie Claire" reported yesterday that Harry and Meghan have not even been invited to the coronation yet, but the "Daily Mail" reported that invitations are expected to be sent out soon. What they do after that is up to Harry and Meghan, but May 6 is even more complicated because it is also their son Archie's fourth birthday. For this reason, the Daily Mail reports that government advisers are making plans in case Harry decides to attend the event alone in a mind-boggling 48-hour journey. Says one insider, "From what I know about Harry and Meghan, they would both want to spend their son's birthday together."
And while "any meeting is likely to be a hush-hush affair," the magazine reported, a source said, "Harry has revealed details of his private conversations, and everyone is on edge. If anyone asks about the Sussex family, they quickly change the subject. We are ruffling feathers, but we are not adding fuel to the fire."
And while Harry and Meghan are apparently planning to attend, they will not have any official role in the ceremony, nor will they be invited to the Buckingham Palace balcony after the ceremony.
