Prince Harry Says "Door is Always Open" to Attend Coronation in New Interview Trailer
Speculation has been rife for months about whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would attend Prince Charles' coronation in May.
Now we have heard from Harry himself, and the answer is... Even less.
In the new trailer for the Duke of Sussex interview for ITV, Tom Bradby asks Harry point-blank if he would attend the coronation if invited.
Refusing to answer either way, Harry said, "A lot can happen between now and the coronation. But the door is always open. The ball is in their court. We have a lot to talk about, and I sincerely hope they will sit down and talk about it."
Harry added, "I'm not sure how long it will be before we get to the coronation, but we'll see.
In an earlier trailer, Harry claimed that his father and brother "have not shown any willingness to reconcile," a claim that royal insiders called "complete and utter nonsense."
In the new trailer, Harry also said, "I don't think keeping quiet is going to make things better."
Asked if his brother would say, "Harry, why did you do this?" he replied, "I would probably say a lot of things."
One of the main points of contention of those who criticize the Sussexes is the conflict between their claim of invasion of privacy and their willingness to reveal royal secrets.
Asked about this, Harry replied, "That would be an accusation from people who don't understand or don't want to believe what my family is explaining to the press." This is the same argument he previously made in the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, which was released in December.
Harry's interview with Tom Bradby will air on ITV on January 8.
