The Glory" Season 1 Part 2: When is it back?

Korean moviegoers know that revenge dramas make for the most brutal thrillers. Written by The Guardian: The Great and Lonely God screenwriters Kim Eun-sook and Ahn Gil-ho, "The Glory" is a decades-long revenge drama about a woman who was bullied in high school and suffered severe physical and mental scars. Decades later, Dong-eun (Song) becomes the homeroom teacher for the daughter of bullying ringleader Yeo-jin (Im Ji-young) and begins a meticulous plan to unravel the bullies' lives.

"Glory" is a must-see for K-drama fans, but not in its usual 16-episode run. Instead, Netflix will split the season in two, releasing the first eight episodes on December 30, 2022. Read on to find out what we know about when to expect the next eight episodes, now that the first weekend alone has logged 25.41 million hours of viewing and thousands of viewers have already run through the first drop.

While many Korean drama fans (myself included) would have loved to binge this great series all the way through, Netflix instead split "The Glory" into two parts, like "Stranger Things" season 4 and other recent productions. They made a similar decision with the Korean remake of "Money Heist," delivering the first six episodes in June 2022, with the rest available at ...... The distribution ended six months ago, when many viewers had almost forgotten about it. Fortunately, the streaming company did not repeat this tactic with "Glory" and will return much sooner!

According to some reports (and a disclaimer from Netflix itself), "The Glory" will premiere its final eight episodes in March, which is only two months away. A firm date has not yet been announced, but with the show being so controversial, one would hope that it will be renewed soon.

In the first eight episodes, Dong-eun sowed the seeds of discord in the lives of her former bullies. She threatened Sara and Hye Jung with dirt that would ruin their careers and weddings, respectively. Jae-joon knows that he is Ha Ye-seol's real father and is trying to gain custody of her by breaking up Young-jin and Do-yeon's marriage. Furthermore, Myeong-oh is still missing. Now that he has been reported missing, a shady deal between Sara and Jae-joon may bring down the threesome.

Meanwhile, Dong-woong has assembled a team of two spies, Hyun-nam, a naturally skilled spy, and Yo-jeong, a sworn executioner, to aid him in his remaining vendetta. Do-yeon even might take her side when he learns that his wife was a vicious bully who had been unfaithful throughout their marriage. During a cliffhanger meeting between him and Dong-eun, she reveals that he is an integral part of her plan to completely destroy Yong-jin.

In pure melodramatic style, this is not the end of the tangled web of "Glory." We've almost got Yo-jeong's backstory, but it remains to be seen whether this charming surgeon will ever heal from the wrath of his father's murder. Instead, he seems to be focusing his desire for revenge on helping Dong-eun, which may result in both of them losing their souls to the mission. We also don't know what will happen to Hyun-nam. Hyun-nam risks losing her daughter if Dong-eun carries out the deal and kills her abusive husband for her. There is also the mystery of Yoon So-hee, another victim of the bullies who died before they started bullying Dong-eun. If Young-jin really killed Yoon So-hee and Myeong-oh when Myeong-oh threatened to expose Yoon So-hee's true identity, then Dong-eun's plot will end tragically, with many deaths.
