Meghan Markle reportedly considering writing her memoir
Two weeks from today, the world will finally get to see the contents of Prince Harry's highly anticipated memoir, Spare, which will be released on January 10. However, Prince Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, may be writing her own book.
Even after Netflix's six-part documentary Harry & Meghan, it seems the couple still has more to tell. Harry will get his chance to do so in Spare, for which veteran biographer J.R. Moehringer will serve as ghostwriter. And according to a source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan "has been completely candid about her time in the royal limelight and is considering doing her own memoir," OK reports.
"She intends to write the book and won't skimp. It's just a question of timing and how long she wants to hold out to preserve Prince Charles' relationship with Harry." The source adds that Harry and Meghan may still be aware of "what they can still squeeze out of the monarchy in terms of titles and being on the fringes."
Nevertheless, the aforementioned titles and benefits are few and far between, sources say, and may not stop Princess Meghan from laying it all out in her own tell-all book.
"The feeling at this point is that she has little to lose and she may as well move on," the source said, adding that "the process is already quietly underway."
Harry's 416 books have earned the publisher Penguin Random House a whopping $20 million, much of which will go to charity. One can speculate that a potential book by Princess Meghan would bring in a similar amount.
"Needless to say, her book will pull no punches," says the source.
"All those who have interfered with Meghan or made life difficult for Meghan and Harry will be abused and dragged into this book." [Perhaps even more than Harry's book, the royal family may be frightened of what Meghan might say. Meghan can do whatever she wants and no one can stop her."
