Bethenny Frankel Calls "Harry & Meghan" Docs "Boring" and a "Money Grab," Drawing Blame from Royal Family Fans

Bethenny Frankel (businesswoman, "Wives of New York" alum, known for always speaking her mind) responded to the Netflix documentary "Harry & Meghan."

Frankel has many thoughts, many of which are not complimentary to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The former reality star posted a three-minute TikTok explaining her views, but reactions to her views have so far been very divided.

"It was kind of boring. Didn't hold my attention," she said.

"It seemed like they really wanted to humanize us. To let us know that they are real people. We believe that you really love each other and are human beings."

Frankel's problem was a point that many other commentators have hit on the Sussexes: in short, "If you don't want the attention, why participate in a media project like this?" (A Sussex spokesperson insists that privacy is not the reason the royal couple left their role in the UK.)

"I felt like this whole documentary was about how famous we are. It's like, 'We're so famous. It's relentless,'" Frankel continued.

"If you are being trolled by the media, the Royal Family advised us not to say anything.

"When you add gasoline to the fire, the fire burns bigger. I feel like they, especially Princess Meghan, want to tell us more."

In Frankel's interpretation, Meghan wanted fame.

"Harry even said, 'All the girls I dated didn't want this. But Megan wanted this. She wanted to be friends with Amal and George, Victoria Beckham and David, Priyanka and Nick, Oprah, Tyler Perry, everyone who was invited to the wedding."

The Real Housewives star added, "I really don't know what the goal is, if it is to bring down the monarchy that is your in-laws, that seems like a big goal, but for your children not to take this monarchy's name, and mark the title Not to do that, not to dine on the title, to really set yourself apart," he explained.

"I feel like we're being knocked off for money. We feel like we're leaving this so we have to take all we can, so grab the bag."

Frankel's TikTok commenters largely agreed with her, but those on Twitter did not find her criticism of the Sussexes good and questioned why she would give them such attention if she dislikes them.

"It is Bethenny who is obsessed with fame and keeps reminding us how famous she is," one wrote.

"Years from now, no one will remember who she is, but the world will always remember Meghan Markle, and it haunts her. Jealousy is a terrible disease."

"Dear Bethenny - Why do you have a problem with black women expressing their experiences dealing with racism in different spaces? What is wrong with Meghan Markle?

"The fact that they don't like Meghan Markle and yet they still read every article she does, watch every show, listen to every podcast. This is fan behavior. You are one of Markle's shining lights," another user tweeted.

This is not the first time Frankel has received some level of backlash for criticizing the Sussexes. [game show host, fairly unknown actress with a tiara and a 7-figure wedding for all of 2 years, went from suffering in the palace to fame with @Oprah on speed dial, 7 million in interviews, hundreds of millions in media contracts. #MARRY."

After many pointed out her insensitivity, Frankel tweeted The mental anguish and racism must feel suffocating and disempowering. I am a polarizing, unfiltered (and often flawed), flawed human being with a voice. When I heard this interview in the middle of a pandemic, I found it a surprising choice. I am sorry if I hurt or offended you."
