Prince Harry calls claims that he wants to "teach the British people a lesson" an "unfounded hit piece."

Prince Harry spoke to The Sun about his feelings.

The magazine recently reported that the Duke of Sussex told a friend ahead of his Oprah interview with Meghan Markle, "This is going to be quite shocking. The Brits need to learn their lesson."

The tabloid ran the story on its front page, and Harry wasted no time in debunking the claim, which his team called "baseless."

"This is an unsubstantiated hit piece masquerading as journalism," a spokesman for the Sussex couple replied.

"The article is riddled with inaccuracies, most notably the misquoting of Prince Harry.

"To accuse a man who has spent a decade serving his country of trying to teach that same country a lesson is not only an attempt at a distraction, but a sorry and predictable strategy by the tabloids.

"It is shameful and manipulative to put Prince Harry at odds with his country.

The Sussexes have historically not avoided expressing exactly how they feel about the British tabloids. Both couples have been involved in numerous lawsuits against the Daily Mail over the years, and both have won certain victories against the paper. [When the Duchess won a high-profile case against the Mail in late 2021, she said in a statement, "Today the court has once again ruled in my favor, proving that the Mail on Sunday, owned by Sir Jonathan Rothermere, has broken the law. [The court held the defendant accountable.

"Because while it may seem far removed from your personal life, it is not. Tomorrow, it could be you. [21] [22] "These harmful acts don't happen once in a blue moon; they are everyday failures that divide us, and we all deserve better.
