Farewell, Mr. Landon. In the final episode of Season 4 Part 1 of "Manifest," viewers said an abrupt, if inevitable, goodbye to Zeke, who had been drowning all season in his enormous empathic powers. In the final moments of Part 1, Zeke's power ended him: after learning that Cal was a dragon and the only person who could save the 828 passengers (and the entire world) from certain destruction, Zeke realized that he was the only one who could save Cal's life. He took Cal's hand, absorbed Cal's cancer, and Zeke was able to hold on long enough for Mikaela to return and say his final goodbyes.

"Manifest" continues to blur the lines between the dead and the living, but never more so than in "Manifest" Season 4, where creator Jeff Lake confirmed that Zeke Landon is unfortunately dead. 'Zeke is dead,' he said. 'But there is a powerful love between him and Mikaela: ...... 'We have seen characters find ways to communicate with each other, death notwithstanding. Their bond is strong, so let's see what Mikaela can accomplish."

In other words, although Zeke is no longer in the land of the living, he may still find a way to communicate with his wife in the final chapter of the series. But then there's Jared.

You may remember that Jared and Mikaela have a long and tangled romantic history dating back to Season 1, Episode 1. In the first half of the fourth season, it was concluded that Mikaela and Zeke would eventually get together, and even Jared admitted to rooting for the pair at their anniversary dinner, but that was before Zeke, yes, died. Meanwhile, Jared is in an "Ali" or "Nasi" situation with Drea: for Jared, there was only Mikaela.

In an interview with Variety magazine, Lake also talked about it: "It's not quite the two years between Season 3 and Season 4, but a few months would have passed. And the question arises, "How many months does one have to wait before moving on after a period of grieving?" The question arises. "Micaela and Jared may have another chapter waiting for them. So let's take a beat and see if there is another chance for romance between those two."
