Love is Blind" Season 4: Everything We Know

Season 3 of "Love is Blind" has officially come to an end. The third installment of this reality show ended with two marriages, one relationship, and at least one confirmed villain. The Dallas-set season may be over, but fortunately, even before Season 3 of "Love Is Blind" was announced, we knew there would be a Season 4. Here is what we know about the upcoming episodes.

In its first three seasons, Love Is Blind introduced a fan-favorite couple, a toxic f-boy, an absolute treasure of a woman (kudos to SK's mom), and the trademark opaque gold wine glasses. In case you want to tally up the results for each: season 1's married couples, Lauren and Cameron and Amber and Burnett, are alive and well. Season 2 pairs Danielle and Nick and Ianna and Jarrett announced their split earlier this year, around the time the season's "After the Altar" special was released. As for Season 3, Alexa and Brennon and Colleen and Matt are still dating after about 18 months of marriage. Raven and SK are also still together, although they did not marry in the finale.

"Love is Blind" is filmed on a super-fast and somewhat frightening schedule. After Season 1 was a huge hit, Seasons 2 and 3 were greenlit and filmed one after the other (the Season 3 wedding will be around June 2022). And after Season 2 was a huge hit, the series was renewed almost immediately (open in new tab), with Seasons 4 and 5 set to air in March 2022. Not only that, but according to Women's Health (opens in new tab), seasons 4 and 5 had already finished filming by the time season 3 premiered.

"We've filmed five seasons," Nick Lachey told the outlet. 'So that's what makes it interesting and intriguing to us, and it gives us a fresh attitude and a fresh perspective to work with each season.'

Netflix has made no official announcement about locations for the new season, but some LIB Net detectives have found hints of the next central city. The show's crew was seen filming (open in new tab) in May 2022 in several locations in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood, but it is not known if that is season 4 or 5. In addition to the open casting call (opens in new tab), which requires only that you "live in the city where that season will be filmed," DCist reports that people are being recruited in Washington, D.C.; Charlotte, North Carolina; Detroit, Michigan; and Tampa, Florida Casting calls were posted on Instagram (opens in new tab).

We speculate that after the positive audience numbers for Season 3, Season 4 will premiere sooner rather than later. While other seasons have had a longer time between production and release (the gap in Season 3 was almost a year and a half), the show will probably want to stick to its successful one-year, two-season schedule in 2022. It is also unlikely that Netflix would delay the next two seasons, which have already ended, until 2024. So seasons 4 and 5 will likely drop between Valentine's Day, mid-spring 2023, and late fall 2023, respectively.

Reading reactions to the finale on social media, I see several posts questioning whether there is a need to do more of this engrossing but depressing show. Over the past three seasons, couples have found love (suspiciously, two couples have married each season, but not all make it), and pure love is always a win. But aside from the emotional turmoil that a good half of the contestants experience each season, the show seems to be primed to bring in ratings and a discourse that ranges from well-meaning to harmful. Even when I heard that filming for the fourth season had already wrapped, my reaction was, here we go again.

However, I'm still going to keep watching (mostly because it's FOMO and literally part of the job). When couples bond authentically, there is a nice serotonin-like moment that cuts through the drama fleetingly. Even though the elimination of Twitter may take away some of the FOMO, most current viewers will keep tuning in.
