Prince Harry returns to Windsor; King Charles and Queen Camilla due to arrive in London today

On September 8, when news broke that Queen Elizabeth's health was rapidly deteriorating during her stay at Balmoral, all of her children and many of her grandchildren rushed to her side.

Sadly, Prince Harry did not make it in time to see his grandmother for the last time before she peacefully breathed her last that day, but fortunately she was well surrounded by her two oldest sons, Charles and Ann, who were already in Scotland at the time.

Now that Britain has entered a period of mourning, which lasts until seven days after the late monarch's funeral, the royal family is leaving Balmoral to prepare for what is to come.

Royal reporter Omid Scobie reported that Prince Harry has returned to Windsor, where he and his wife Meghan Markle were staying during their brief European tour, and that Prince Charles and Queen Camilla are heading to London.

"After spending the night in Balmoral, Prince Harry left this morning to return to Windsor. He will, of course, remain in England in the meantime," Scobie wrote.

"Later today, King Charles and Queen Camilla will be seen on their way to London."

Prince Charles is scheduled to deliver his first speech as monarch in the British capital around 6 p.m. ET (1 p.m. GMT) today. i News reports that he will honor his late mother and vow to serve the nation as King Charles III. He became monarch upon the passing of Elizabeth II and is expected to be crowned within the next year.
