After another stressful year, it's time for the return of the ultimate in soothing television. The Great British Baking Show (known as "Bake Off" in the UK) is one of the best things about autumn. It is a true feel-good reality show where you can fall in love with the hilarious contestants and truly unwind after a pressure-packed day. The Great British Baking Show season 13's UK premiere date is set for mid-September, and assuming Netflix follows its typical format of delivering episodes three days after they air in the UK, American viewers will soon have a brand new group of bakers to They will encounter.

The Great British Baking Show's UK premiere date is September 13, 2022; in the 2021 version of The Great British Baking Show, U.S. fans could watch the show the Friday after it aired in the UK when the episode was available on Netflix Netflix confirmed earlier this month on What's on Netflix (opens in new tab) that episodes of the new season would air weekly, but did not confirm a specific date.

Our four intrepid judges and hosts will all return for the new season. Prue Reese and Paul Hollywood will judge three rounds each week: dazzling signatures, surprising technicals, and elaborate showstoppers. Meanwhile, Noah Fielding and Matt Lucas will continue to host and entertain (or distract) the bakers throughout each show.

Twelve amateur bakers will be in the tent this year, and Channel 4 will introduce the bakers with a sweet group photo (above). Among the contestants (opens in new tab) are an Internet-obsessed teaching assistant, a composting radio show host, an 18-year-old who has been baking since age 13, and a 45-year-old who has been baking since age 2! As always, the show has found a delightful bunch.

Italian baker Giuseppe Del Anno took home the cake plate trophy, facing off against Christel Pereira and Chiggs Palmer in the finals, the first time all three bakers have won the Hollywood Handshake twice in the past and twice won Star Baker. Other standout contestants included Freya, a young psychology student who makes plant-based cakes, and Jürgen, a talented German baker.

In addition to the main feature, Netflix is also streaming a spin-off of the "Baking Show" franchise; according to Netflix's What's on Netflix, two new episodes of "The Great British Baking Show": "Holiday will be available for streaming on November 18 (both episodes originally aired in the U.K. in late 2021); Netflix is also distributing the franchise's "Junior Baking Show" in the U.S.
