New documentary details fight in which Prince Harry "slammed the phone" on Prince William
Details of (another) alleged rivalry between estranged brothers Prince William and Prince Harry have been revealed in a new French documentary called The Red Line: William and Harry, Enemy Brothers (a very dramatic title). This time, it is about the Meghan Markle bullying claims that made the news in March 2021, just around the time Harry and Meghan appeared on a TV special with Oprah Winfrey.
According to "OK!", Harry hung up on his brother during a phone call in which an enraged William confronted Harry about the allegations, and his brother jumped in his car to rush to Kensington Palace to confront Harry face-to-face.
Tensions between the brothers were already running high before the argument reached a fever pitch. William was furious because he already didn't like his sister-in-law very much," royal biographer Pierrick Ghaith said in the documentary. 'He called Harry directly, but Harry slammed down the phone. Harry didn't want to know anything, so William jumped in his car and drove to Kensington Palace, intending to confront Prince Harry."
The documentary blames "Meghan's behavior at the heart of William and Harry's breakup." The bullying accusations against the Duchess of Sussex began in 2018 when Jason Knauf, Harry and Meghan's former communications secretary, sent an email to William's secretary.
"I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of their homes last year," the email allegedly read.
"The treatment of X is totally unacceptable. It seems that the Duchess is always trying to keep someone under her thumb. She is bullying Y and trying to undermine her confidence, and we are receiving report after report from people who have witnessed her unacceptable behavior towards Y."[10
Although the allegations occurred in 2018, they only became public in March 2021, the same month as the bombshell Oprah interview. Meghan denied the bullying allegations.
"Call it a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and damaging misinformation," said Meghan's representative. It is no coincidence that the distorted and years-old accusations aimed at undermining the Duchess are being explained to the British media just before Meghan and the Duke are due to speak openly and honestly about their experiences over the last few years."
Buckingham Palace immediately issued a statement saying, in part, that it was "obviously very concerned" about the situation. An investigation was finally completed this past June, but the findings were not made public.
According to Redline The Sun, "William and Harry, Enemy Brothers" is scheduled for release on August 31.
