Kate Middleton, who has had a lot going on in her family (open in new tab) lately, turns 38 today. The royal family, in a departure from the drama of Meghan, Markle, Prince, and Harry, congratulated the Duchess on her birthday and, in the case of Kensington Palace, released an unpublished photo of Kate at Anmer Hall, her country home in Cambridge.

UPDATE: Meghan and Harry have posted an Instagram photo of Kate (opens in new tab) with the caption, "Happy Birthday to the Duchess of Cambridge! ❤️" with the caption.

According to the Daily Mail (opens in new tab), Kate is wearing a Fjallraven "Ovik" Re-Wool Sweater (which unfortunately does not appear to be available for sale, but we will update the article if it is) with classic skinny jeans. She likes the brand and wore the Green Army Jacket in 2018 (opens in new tab). It is also speculated that this was the same photo shoot as the 2018 Cambridge couple's Royal Christmas card (opens in new tab), which appears to be the same outfit.

The photo was taken by royal photographer Matt Porteus, who also shared the photo on his Instagram (opens in new tab) and wished Kate a happy birthday.According to HELLO! "Over the past few years, Matt has taken Prince Louis' christening photos, Prince George's birthday snaps, and famously photographed the family's Christmas cards."

Kate met with Early Years (opens in new tab) at Kensington Palace yesterday and quietly returned to work. Her first joint outing with Prince William is scheduled for January 15 to support the Bradford community. While it is undecided how she will actually spend her birthday (she celebrated with family and friends this past weekend), I have a feeling she would probably prefer a quiet, hopefully drama-free anniversary at home today.
