Who is Mykenna Dawn, the incredible-looking "Bachelor" contestant?

As Bachelor Peter Weber begins to narrow down the contestants, (opens in new tab) the Bachelor nation is turning its attention to one woman. (opens in new tab) The one who is causing mixed reactions is Mykenna Dawn. For those of you who don't know this name, remember the contestant who, when she didn't get a rose for her first impression, chugged down her wine glass and walked off crying to the producers. Yes, that's her! I like Dawn a lot. She can't hide the emotion on her face (which is both a gift and a terrible curse). Her Instagram bio says this: and her Instagram bio says "CEO of Cringy Wine Dancing."

The 22-year-old fashion blogger is from British Columbia and very close to her family, according to her show bio (open in new tab). (She is one of the contestants who says she would like to emulate her grandparents' 60-year marriage and theirs, which is catnip to Weber.) Her website is currently down for "maintenance (opens in new tab)," but according to an account of what used to be there (opens in new tab), Dawn has always been an influencer.

Her bio also contains an interesting tidbit about her dating history: Dawn "was in a relationship once, but she ended it when he became too controlling."

One of our all-time favorite Bachelorettes, Caitlin Bristowe, is a fan of Dawn's; it is unclear if the two knew each other before the show, but both were Canadian contestants on The Bachelor (in Bristowe's case, the star), and Bristowe was at Dawn's 23rd birthday party They had come to the show. Bristow wrote on Instagram: "@mykennajean" One of our better pics.

Dawn is going through a couple of rose ceremonies and she is going to be one to watch. Not just because Weber likes her, but because she makes glorious facial expressions / has incredibly dramatic reactions to everything / really puts everyone else's eyebrows to shame:

Oh, and also because she's Netflix's "You Beck and has drawn some (very apt, IMO) comparisons:

Totally understandable.

Half the fun of "The Bachelor" is the memes, and Dawn has even made a few of her own:

She also created a reaction video to the latest Rose Ceremony meltdown:

And her Instagram bio states, "I make strange and dramatic faces sometimes... " she wrote. Dawn is really leaning into her own silliness, especially this season, as many women seem to be really embracing the idea of making fun of themselves. I like that! Refreshing.
