Prince Harry and Prince William's relationship 'forever changed' by royal withdrawal

Prince Harry and Prince William (opens in new tab) have officially entered a new phase of their relationship (opens in new tab).

Rumors that the brothers (and their wives, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton (opens in new tab)) are not getting along have been circulating (opens in new tab) for months. The Palace has continued to deny speculation of a rift between the Sussex and Cambridge families, but there is no denying that, for better or worse, the situation between the two will never be the same.

According to People (opens in new tab), a royal source explained that now that Harry and Meghan have stepped down from their senior royal positions, the relationship between the royal brothers has "changed forever."

"They will never be the same again," the source said." Harry is looking straight ahead to a future with his family."

According to sources, Harry and Meghan (opens in new tab) (and their 10-month-old son Archie Harrison (opens in new tab)) plan to split most of their time between California and Canada now that they have completed their duties as active royalty.

"He's not looking back," a royal source added of Harry's post-abdication thinking.

The couple attended a Commonwealth Day service (open in new tab) at Westminster Abbey (open in new tab) earlier this week, but were not seen interacting much during the engagement, which was Harry and Meghan's last (open in new tab) as full-time active royals. They were not. Harry and Will's behavior (open in new tab) at the event led to further speculation about their relationship (open in new tab).

"They're going their separate ways now," a source previously told People about the two couples. 'That's just the way it is.'

Harry confirmed in an interview for an explosive documentary last year during his and Meghan's African royal tour that he and Will are going their separate ways (opens in new tab).

Hopefully, staying true to that different path will strengthen the brothers' bond in the long run.
