Actor Simon Rex Says He Was Offered $70,000 to Lie About His Relationship with Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently resigned from their senior positions in the royal family and moved to Canada (open in new tab).

It has come to light that Princess Meghan has not really been taken seriously by the British press and that a publication actually paid actor Simon Rex to lie about their relationship. Indeed, the 45-year-old actor has often been labeled as one of Princess Meghan's "ex-boyfriends," but no, not really.

"Nothing happened. We didn't even kiss. We just hung out once in a very non-date-like way," Simon explained on the "Hollywood Raw" podcast (opens in new tab). 'She was someone I met on a TV show, and we just had lunch. That was about it."

However, when news of that particular hang session broke, the British tabloids paid Simon to lie about the extent of his relationship with Meghan."

"The tabloids, in fact, when that story broke, several British tabloids offered to pay me a lot of money to tell the lie that we had actually hooked up," Simon said. I said, "Well, you know what? I didn't want to mess up the royal family by lying, so I turned down the big money. ......"

Yeah.

Oh, and Simon also confirmed the specific amount: "It was a lot of money, like $70,000."

Say it with me: this is fucked up.
