Taylor Swift Issues Subtle Statement on Kanye West Phone Leak

The full text of a phone call (opens in new tab) between Kanye West and Taylor Swift regarding the lyrics to West's "Famous" is available on the Internet, and apparently Swift has a subtle reaction to the furor. Fans were up in arms on social media when they learned that West did not appear to tell Swift about the controversial "I made that bitch famous" line in the call. According to the Mail, Swift "liked" several Tumblr posts siding with her in the original 2016 feud between her, West, and West's wife, Kim Kardashian on the site.

There was a post titled "Taylor told the truth moodboard," to which Swift "Liked!" on the post. She also "Liked" another post that read, "How can I sleep at night knowing we've been right all this time and now we have the receipts to prove it." She seems to have pushed the "like" button. A little background on all of this, in case you are putting this timeline together now: in 2016 (opens in new tab), West released the song "Famous" from his album Life of Pablo. In the song, West refers to Swift in two lines. One is "I made that bitch famous" and the other is "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. "According to footage of a phone call between the two artists, this second line was originally "I feel like Taylor Swift might owe me sex."

If you listen back to the call, you can hear Swift saying that the original line about sex is fine. She also tells him that West is going to say "I made her famous" and tells him to "talk to (him) like it happened." He does not appear to have told her the word "bitch," which is the word she later takes issue with (opens in new tab).

In a 2016 interview with Rolling Stone magazine (opens in new tab), Swift discusses her views on the drama. The drama included Kardashian posting clips (opens in new tab) of Swift and West's phone calls on her Snapchat.
