Meghan Seastallion doesn't call "Suga" an album.

Megan Seastallion graces the cover of Marie Claire's May issue. In the same issue, she discusses her latest project, Suga (opens in new tab), which took a long time to complete after a nasty legal battle (opens in new tab) with her first record label. Despite its success, she explains why she doesn't want Suga to be called an album.

"It's a lot of pressure. It's like a husband," Meg tells Marie Claire."

"The project is like, we're dating, we know each other, and we're getting comfortable."

Meg released the project after winning a battle with her first record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment. In an Instagram Live (opens in new tab), Meg told her "Hotties" (fanbase) that label execs were trying to legally stop her from releasing new music. #FREETHEESTALLION" began to go viral online, and Meg finally got her day in court, where a Texas judge ruled in her favor and granted Meghan the right to release Suga.

"For the record, I stand up for myself and I will not allow two men to bully me." Y'all have chosen to highlight the issue of the music divide ... Talk about everything else."

.

This new project dovetails nicely with Hot Girl Meg ("my party girl, my wild side"), Tina Snow ("when she talks like a sassy pimp, that's her"), and her three most well-known alter egos: Meghan The Stallion ("a super-confident all-around strong woman").
