Gabrielle Union enjoys her natural hair during quarantine

From bobs to braids and everything in between, it's clear that Gabrielle Union (open in new tab) rarely has a bad hair day. She's constantly switching up her looks, and her current look doesn't disappoint: the 47-year-old actress gave fans a peek at her natural hair in a recent Instagram post, and we're hooked.

In the video, the L.A.'s Finest star touches on her healthy curls and shows off the length." When your natural locks thank Lockdown. Soon we'll reveal the secret... ? #InTheLab #QuarantineNaturalHairChronicles #FrederickDouglassRealness," she captioned it.

The post has received more than 2 million views and many positive comments since its publication. Tracee Ellis Ross (opens in new tab), who has her own line for natural hair (opens in new tab), commented, "Yes beauty!!!"

and commented.

"On behalf of black women around the world, well done," wrote another. Your natural hair is beautiful!" Another added.

She followed this post with a sweet photo (opens in new tab) of herself with her 17-month-old daughter, Kirbya James. Union was giving her daughter a piggyback ride and the mother-daughter duo had big smiles on their faces." @kaaviajames (opens in new tab)'s mom has hair like yours! When I took off my braid, she said, "? Now mommy and baby are both rocking their natural curls❤???? #QuarantineNaturalHairChronicles," she captioned it.

Here's why these posts make such a big statement: after her controversial exit from America's Got Talent (opens in new tab) and shocking coverage (opens in new tab) of Union as a judge on hairstyle, allegedly receiving feedback that it was "too black" for the show's viewers. She opened up on Instagram shortly thereafter.

"Be proud and be me. Accept myself whole and confident. It may give others fluuuxxx, but don't stop being you," she wrote in a December 2019 post (opens in new tab)." You can shine on your own terms. And if you have something to say? ‍♀️ I don't take notes rooted in anti-blackness. I love me as I am."
