Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Name New Nonprofit "Archewell"

As reported by Hannah Furness of The Telegraph (opens in new tab), Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spoke exclusively about their new nonprofit "empire" called Arche Well. The name comes from the Greek word "arche," meaning "source of action." It also includes "emotional support groups, a multimedia educational empire, and even ... . a huge plan that includes a 'wellbeing website.'" Apparently, this Greek word is also the origin of their son Archie's name! I didn't know that! Apparently the alternatives they had in mind were "Arche Foundation" and "Archeway."

Apparently, this plan is much, much broader in scope than the original Sussex Royal non-profit's plan. In this new venture, we're talking potential:

The couple told The Telegraph that they "want to do something meaningful and important." And Duchess Meghan may be using her previous lifestyle branding skills: "The new American venture will feature information in the areas of nutrition, general health, and mental health, along with entertainment, by the Duchess," with her old You can even see her building on the success of her Goop-style website The Tig.

The couple said they had hoped not to announce it yet, preferring not to divert attention away from the coronavirus, but as soon as they filed for publication in the US, the Telegraph saw it and the couple confirmed their plans. "Before [SussexRoyal], the idea of "Arche" was born, a name that combines an ancient word meaning strength and action with another word that alludes to the deep resources each of us must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right." The exact timing of the launch of the new venture has not yet been determined, but stay tuned.

As a reminder, at the end of March, they closed the Sussex Royal account altogether (and now appear to have turned off comments):

This means that the next account to follow will be Archewell.
