Jennifer Aniston tunes in to ex-boyfriend John Mayer's Instagram Live

Jennifer Aniston watched her ex-boyfriend John Mayer's Instagram Live show "Current Mood" while in quarantine. Mayer talked about meeting and knowing the late Bill Withers. Withers, the legendary singer of "Lean On Me" and "Ain't No Sunshine," passed away last Monday at the age of 81 due to heart complications.

Mayer spoke passionately about Withers' philosophy and the impact Withers had on him. 'As long as I've been a fan of his, or as long as I've known him personally, I've never seen him compromise his principles,' Mayer said. ''And Mayer said. It's just something you have to take in more, whether he was talking to you 15 years ago, 14 years ago, 13 years ago, whether he was talking to you or to an interviewer, everything he said is useful. Four percent of what I say is useful. One hundred percent of what he says is useful."

Aniston, perhaps responding to Mayer's self-deprecating joke, left a laughing comment during this statement, which Instagram users noticed. One tweeted a screenshot:

We're human beings. But I feel like I'm seriously protecting him and us. Trust me, nothing like that will ever happen again from that man. And the fact that he is a wonderful person doesn't go away. We care about each other. It's funny how when we hit a certain place in our relationship, we both realize that maybe we need to do something different, but we still really, really love each other. That is painful. I had no malice toward him. I care deeply, deeply for him. And there it is."
