Prince William, Kate Middleton, and other royal family members celebrate Easter on Instagram.

Now, like many, members of the Royal Family celebrate the Easter vacation separately. Usually, the Queen's relatives gather in Windsor with the British monarch to attend church (opens in new tab). Rumor has it that they also enjoy a roast lamb lunch together after religious services (youngsters such as George, Charlotte, and Louis have been known to compete in family-only egg hunts).

This year, however, the royal family is practicing social distancing, as has been recommended during the ongoing coronavirus crisis. Prince William and his wife Kate have been quarantined with their children at Anmer Hall (opens in new tab), while Prince Charles and his wife Camilla are staying at their home, Barker Hall, in Balmoral, Scotland (opens in new tab). The Sussexes are, of course, in Los Angeles (opens in new tab).

The Queen mentioned this separation in her historic speech on COVID-19 (open in new tab) broadcast just a week ago.

"Self-separation can be difficult at times, but many people of all faiths and none have found that it brings opportunities to slow down and reflect in prayer and meditation," she said.

"We should take comfort that better days will return, though we may still have to endure them.

Fortunately, social distance has not stopped the royal family from commemorating the holiday on social media.

This morning, Kensington Palace, William and Kate's communication channel, Clarence House, Prince Charles and Camilla's channel, and Princess Eugenie shared nature-themed posts on Instagram to mark the holiday. See the post below:

"Wishing you all a safe and happy Easter ? #StayHomeSaveLives" with the caption.

In addition to the Easter greeting, Clarence House also reported that Prince Charles had recorded an Easter reading for Westminster Abbey. (Open in new tab)

The long caption reads:

Happy Easter to all. Today, you can hear the Prince of Wales read the Gospel at an Easter Day service hosted online by Westminster Abbey and Canterbury Cathedral. Westminster Abbey and Canterbury Cathedral will offer prayers for Christians away from the church during the special Easter season. The Prince recorded a reading from John 20:1-18, the story of Jesus' resurrection, earlier this week. The reading can be heard in both a podcast by Westminster Abbey and a video Eucharistic service by Canterbury Cathedral. See @westminsterabbeylondon and @no1cathedral to find out where you can listen.

On her personal page, Princess Eugenie echoed the Queen's speech last weekend, captioning it:

"Happy Easter ? I quote Her Majesty the Queen's Easter message." May the living flame of Easter hope be a sure guide as we face the future."
