[2011's "Green Lantern," starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, was ...... It was not a success, being heavily criticized by critics and largely ignored by audiences. Not surprisingly, Reynolds has always had a sense of humor about this, as anyone who has seen "Deadpool" knows. And over the weekend, when one of his followers asked him if he should rent it on Apple TV for the embarrassingly low price of $0.99, he once again took to Twitter to berate the film. even though it costs less than a dollar, Reynolds was unable to recommend "Green Lantern" (open in new tab) and instead said, "I'm not a movie guy. Instead, he replied, "Walk away."

In 2016, Reynolds told (open in new tab) Entertainment Weekly why Deadpool was such a huge success while Green Lantern was quite the opposite. 'It's simple: Deadpool always knew what it was. With Green Lantern, I don't think anyone could figure out exactly what it was. With Green Lantern, I don't think anyone understood exactly what it was. It also fell victim to the Hollywood process of poster first, release date later, and script last.

Two years later, he half-heartedly confessed: "I never saw the final version of Green Lantern. 'What I saw was a very late rough cut. But it's not that I didn't like it and didn't want to see it." As for the motivation for the jokes in "Deadpool," he said, "They're just making fun of me.
