As if 2020 couldn't get any worse, Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson (open in new tab) have reportedly broken up.

According to sources in People (opens in new tab), the two decided to end their relationship in early April and have since isolated themselves away from each other. Delevigne, in particular, has been spending time with friends, including sisters Margaret and Rainey Quarry and Kaia Gerber.

"Kara and Ashley have had their ups and downs before, but it's over," one source said. 'Their relationship just ran its course.'

Neither Benson nor Delevigne have publicly acknowledged the breakup rumors, and the couple's representatives have yet to respond.

This is not the first time rumors of a breakup have surfaced for the couple. Last December, a cryptic tweet (opens in new tab) sent out from Delevigne's Twitter account read, "Me and Ashley have broken up." However, the message was quickly deleted, leading fans to speculate that the model's Twitter account had been hacked.

Delevigne and Benson have been dating since at least 2018, when they were first seen kissing at London's Heathrow Airport.

Last June, while accepting a Hero Award from the nonprofit Trevor Project, Delevigne shared a heartwarming story about Benson, saying, "There is another special woman in this room that I have to thank. She is the one who helped me love myself when I needed it most and when I really needed it. She taught me what true love is and how to embrace it.
