Jennifer Garner's open letter to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Instagram

Archie Harrison (opens in new tab), son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (opens in new tab), turned one this week, and in true royal fashion, the Sussex couple celebrated in a truly charitable way.

In a video shared on Instagram by Save the Children UK (opens in new tab), Princess Meghan read Duck! Rabbit!" to Archie (opens in new tab). According to Save the Children's website (opens in new tab), the charity "works to make a lasting, positive difference in the lives of children in more than 120 countries worldwide, including the United States."

Jennifer Garner (open in new tab) also supports the organization and publicly thanked the Sussexes on Instagram on Thursday for teaming up with Save the Children (open in new tab) for Archie's birthday (open in new tab). Jen's open letter to the royal family begins below:

Dear Meghan and Harry,

Thank you for sharing your gorgeous son with the world and joining us to celebrate his first birthday.

We hope you will choose @savewithstories (opens in new tab) to celebrate this special day, and by doing so, raise awareness of @savethechildren's (opens in new tab) work in the US and UK, both for children in desperate situations I am humbled and grateful to @savethechildren for helping to feed and educate these children.

Most of all, watching you lovingly speak through the pictures while your clever Archie turns the pages uplifts us all and reminds us that what looks like a duck may be a rabbit. Thank you for this delightful and meaningful shift in perspective.

Best,

Jen
